Children's Religious Education

Jesus with a group of children in modern clothesJesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."  – Matthew 19:14 RSV

Children grow in the fullness of joy when they come to know of God's infinite love for them.  Care for the soul is as important as care for the body – and that's why faith formation and religious education are so important.

We, St. John the Baptist Parish in combination with Holy Rosary Parish, are privileged to help your children grow in the fullness of joy!  Any and all questions should be directed to our Religious Education Coordinator, Cathy Mazzaglia.  (Her last name rhymes with the flower, azalea.)  She can be contacted at 485-2115 or by email at

Sunday morning classes are held between 8:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Parish Center, Lower Hall (this is our Religious Education Center.)

Registration for the 2018-2019 school year will be held Monday June 11-Thursday June 14.  Registration will be held every evening from 6 pm - 8 pm.  If you have a child who will be in grades 1-8 during the 2018-2019 school year you must come to the Religious Education center in the basement of the parish hall to register your child.  There will NOT be registrations via email, collection basket, or USPS this year.  Registration will be a simple drop-in format.  Come in sign-up, get the schedule and head home.  Easy!

Why did God make you?

Answer: God made me to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world, and to be happy with Him forever in the next.
