"Love one another" ~  John 13:34

Free Monthly Market –

Every month, our parish receives free food that we offer, not only to parishioners, but to the community at large. This Food Program donates a variety of bread products and other food stuffs that are always a surprise. SJB in turn offers these items at no cost and no requests for donations. Everything is FREE for the taking. All you have to do is show up! Find out when our next Market will be in our Parish Hall by checking out our weekly bulletins. And please tell your neighbors!

As Christians, we strive to love our neighbors as ourselves and to give generously of our time, talents, and resources to those in need.

Here are a few nonprofit organizations that we help and honor in our parish.

Pine Haven Boys Center – A home for troubled boys

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.”  – Matthew 18:10

Run by the Somascan Fathers and located here in Allenstown, Pine Haven is an intensive residential facility that cares for and educates boys with behavioral, emotional, academic, and relational problems.  The Center’s philosophy is that there is no such thing as a bad boy and that every child should be reunited with his family whenever possible.  They accomplish this through positive programs and by “Catching the child doing right.”

Our parishioners are encouraged to collect “Box Tops for Education” and “Labels for Education” to benefit this nonprofit home/school for troubled boys.  Just mail your “Box Tops” to:

Pine Haven Boys Center
PO Box 162
Allenstown, NH 03275

Or, drop off your "Labels for Education" requirements at the Pine Haven office at 133 River Road in Allenstown.

The Center also accepts nonmonetary donations, including food.  Please call their office at 603-485-7141 first to make sure that they are able and available to accept.

CareNet Pregnancy Center

“… the infant in my womb leaped for joy.”  – Luke 1:44

Every year, between Mother's Day and Father's Day, we have a Baby Bottle Fundraiser to benefit CareNet of Concord.  This pregnancy center assists women who are facing unplanned pregnancies, some of whom may be considering abortions.  The professionals at CareNet provide a safe place of counsel to help these women make TRULY informed decisions.  They also provide assistance and support for those who choose life, with prenatal and parenting classes, material resources for the baby, and connections to programs to further meet their needs.  The Center provides counseling for men – who are always part of any pregnancy – and also counseling for women who are suffering the trauma of postabortion.

To help continue this great work of respecting the dignity of women and fostering respect for life, join in our Baby Bottle Campaign come Mother’s Day! Our spare change can change lives.

To find other ways that you can help CareNet, please visit their website: www.carenetconcord.com (Please remember that the website is geared toward welcoming all women who are facing the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy.)

If you or someone that you know is facing an unwanted pregnancy, or is in need of postabortion counseling, you may wish to contact the good people at CareNet in Concord, located on 7 Greenwood Ave, at 603-224-7477.

“Claire’s Kids”

“Whoever receives this child in my name receives me…” –Luke 9:48

Our parish regularly participates with others in a Lottery Calendar fundraiser presented by the Sisters of the Holy Cross for the “Sister Claire Daneau Legacy Fund”.  This fund benefits the Mary Gate of Heaven Orphanage in Haiti, which can house up to 60 motherless and impoverished children in need.  Contributions from parishes and friends of Sister Claire allowed the orphanage to purchase a much-needed truck.

Since 1989, the Sisters have given a home, education, and love to homeless children in one of the poorest countries in the world.  The orphanage is run entirely on donations – and loving hearts.  If you would like to continue helping Sister Claire’s mission of love for these children, donations can be sent to:

Sisters of Holy Cross Claire Daneau Legacy Fund
377 Island Pond Rd.
Manchester, NH 03109
